Rookie Sports

The Kearney Family YMCA now offers youth sports that allow kids to progress from introductory Rookie and Micro Sports to Youth Sports Leagues. All YMCA Youth Sports programs promote a healthy lifestyle while emphasizing fun, skill development, sportsmanship and teamwork. Participants learn new skills, make new friends, develop essential character traits, and set individual and team goals. YMCA Youth Sports emphasizes on healthy relationships between adults and youth as well as families, with a goal to build social skills and sport skills for all participants.

Parent/Tot Sports (Ages 2-3 w/parent participation required)

These programs are for you and your child to come and have fun together! You are an important part of your child’s development and we will provide the atmosphere and activity to do this. Come play with your child and enjoy the time together! These programs are for youth ages 2-3 years and parent participation is required.

Sports Seekers (Age 4)

Sports Seekers programs are a child’s first experience independent of parents. Participants will learn new skills while having fun at play. A common goal for this age group will be to make new friends and practice sports skills. Parents are encouraged and welcome to volunteer. The emphasis is on having fun!

Athletic All-Stars (Age 5-6)

Emphasis is on fun! Youth will set individual and team goals while developing essential character traits. Learning skills while making new friends is all part of the program. Modified game rules and smaller fields/courts allow youth to participate with confidence and capability. Parents are encouraged and welcome to volunteer.
