That is why; the Kearney Family Y offers water exercise, yoga, cardio, stretching and toning classes, volunteer opportunities, and social events. Our Prime program is designed for older men and women to promote fitness and well-being while fostering friendships and community. Our volunteer opportunities and social events help build lasting relationships and ties that last a lifetime.

Prime Fitness

Combining cardio, strength, endurance and balance, this class will give you a fun workout each week as we change it up! Participants will be led by a certified instructor and use a variety of small equipment. We will keep you guessing on the workout each week! Leave class feeling energized and better than when you came in!

Prime Yoga

Joining a yoga class can be intimidating if you’re out of shape or have never practiced before. Starting a gentle practice as an older adult can be an excellent way to stay active and lower stress levels. Yoga is not only a safe exercise but also effective in keeping the mind and body in good health. From healthy bones to flexibility, our instructors can help you get started! When it comes to our bodies, you can change your course of action and change the quality of your life.

Prime Individual Fitness

Age is not an excuse to avoid exercise. If group classes are not appealing to you, take advantage of our Fitness Center. We have treadmills, Ellipticals, Recumbent Bicycles, and free weights for our members to use. Friendly and knowledgeable Y staff are available to assist you and get you started on your independent workout. Exercise can help you stay functional and productive!

Prime Day At The Y

Wednesdays are special at the Kearney Family Y. Whether you are interested in our Aqua classes, group exercise classes, or working out on your own, please join us for coffee and a treat in our lounge area. Not a member? Guests can be part of the Y for a $4 day pass rate.

SilverSneakers®

Muscular Strength & Range of Movement (MSROM) Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises that can increase muscular strength, range of movement & activity. Hand held weights, elastic tubing w/handles and a chair used for seated/standing support.

Prime Water Clases

TabAqua -Join us for interval training in both the Tabata methods, mixed and max intervals, we will incorporate all of your favorite aquatic equipment into aquatic movements to enhance both strength and cardiovascular endurance. So if you want more bang for buck in the water...we will see you at TabAqua!

Shallow Water Power - This shallow water workout includes the use of equipment or none at all! We may use ergo bells, loops and bands, noodles, kickboards, and balls. We will work out to music to target fitness components of agility, balance, co-ordination, all in addition to cardio. You do not have to be a swimmer! Adults of any age or fitness ability are encouraged and welcome!
