I graduated from Regis University in Denver, CO. with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. After three years of travel n ju rising around the Eastern United States, I came to Nebraska where I met and married my husband Matt. We have been together for over 22 years. We have a daughter who is a sophomore at UNK and our son is a homeschool freshman in high school.
Before coming to work full time at the YMCA, I worked as an Intensive care nurse at GSH for over 11 years, I also worked as a clinical nurse at the Health Center on UNK campus for 5 years, and worked for a local senior residence home for a year.
During that time, I was a Prime Time instructor at the YMCA for over 10 years and wanted to use my nursing skills and my newly acquired Group Fitness Training certificate to help keep people healthy and staying home as long as they can.
In July 2019, I joined the YMCA team as the Healthy Living Coordinator in charge of the Seniors programs, Weight loss programs, and Chronic Disease Programs like LiveSTRONG for Cancer participants, Delay the Disease for Parkinson’s participants, Diabetic Disease Prevention for prediabetic participants.
I see the YMCA as a place for everyone, to make friends, find support, get healthy physical and emotional and a place for everyone to belong. From young to old, beginners to pro the YMCA has something to offer everyone. I am glad to be a part of this team.Back to Our Leadership
