Home School Creative Arts

The Kearney Family YMCA Home School Creative Arts program is designed to help Pre K- 5th homeschool students learn the importance music, theater, and art.

Instructor: Peg Sinnard and assisted by UNK Fine Arts Department

Peg Sinnard is a retired Music and Theater teacher and is currently serving as our Creative Arts Coordinator at the Kearney Family YMCA. She has received degrees in both music and theater.

Fall semester:
Tuesday, September 7th through Tuesday, December 14th, 2021

Pre K – K

Participants will be learning basic lessons, rhymes and notes. They will also participant in interactive theater games.

Time: 12:30 – 1:15 pm

1st – 3rd Grade

Participants will be learning instruments, rhymes, rhyme, and patterns. They will also participate in interactive theater games, singing and working with recorders.

Time: 1:15 – 2:00 pm

4th – 5th Grade

Participants will be learning about different composers, recorders and learning to sing two-part music. They will also participate in interactive theater games.

Time: 2:00 – 3:00 pm
