Phase 1: Opening F.A.Qs
What is Phase 1?
Phase one is opening the building Tuesday May 19th, 2020 to our Kearney Y members only. We have a limited number who can be in the building at one time, members will be asked to sign up for their hour of time in order to use the facility.
Guest passes, paid day passes and NationWide member will not be allowed access to the Kearney Y during Phase One.
Any members under the age of 16 will need to be with a parent at all times.
How long is Phase 1 to last?
As of right now we are planning phase one to finish up by June 1st, however we want to keep our members and staff as safe as possible so we are monitoring the situations on a daily basis.
What are the building hours?
We will be open:
Sunday (May 24th) Closed
Monday (May 25th) Closed
Is there a limit to how many people can be in the building?
Yes, we are limiting areas to 10 people. These areas are Fitness Center, Pool, Group Exercise classes, and Super Gym Court 1-3.
Is there a time limit that I can be in the building?
Yes, for phase one we are asking members to register for one-hour time slots throughout the day.
Are we having Group Exercise Classes?
Yes! We will be holding Group Ex classes Tuesday-Friday. Members will need to register for these classes.
Will there be any screening to get into the Y building?
Yes, we will be taking temperatures and asking health questions upon check-in. If your temperature is 100.4 or higher we will have to ask you to leave the facility.
Do I have to wear a mask?
No, members are not required to wear a mask. That will up to the members discretion if they should feel more comfortable wearing one.
Will staff be wearing masks?
Yes, all staff will be wearing masks. Management will have the option of wearing a mask in their offices but will have one on when leaving their offices.
Will Child Watch be open?
Child Watch will not be open during phase one.
Can my kids play in the Family Center?
Family Center will not be open in phase one.
When will youth/adult programs be held?
We are hoping to be able to offer some sports camps this Summer.
Is the pool open?
Yes, there are 6 lap lanes designated to members to swim. Sign up will be one hour times and you will need register prior to arriving to the facility.
Is the Family Center concessions open?
The Family Center and concessions are not open but there are vending machines through the facility that can be utilized.
Will the Locker Rooms be open? Steam rooms? Small Gym? Racquetball courts? Water fountains?
These areas and services will not be open.
What if I need things from my locker?
Let the staff at the Welcome Center know and they can assist you with your locker.
Are membership dues still on hold?
All memberships are on hold until May 31st, 2020. On June 1st and 15th, members will be drafted for their membership. Annual membership will have 2 months added to their yearly duration.
When am I going to be charged for my membership again?
All memberships will begin drafting again on June 1st and 15th according to your draft date choice.
What if I am not working?

Are you accepting new memberships?
Yes, we are! You can start your memberships online or here in the facility. Our Welcome Center staff will help get all your paperwork handled, while abiding by the recommended social distancing protocols.
What is being done to maintain safety?
All staff are wearing masks. Staff are cleaning equipment after each use.
Members are asked to clean equipment before and after use.
Cleaning stations are through out facility. Once you have finished using your cleaning towel, please place them in the “Dirty Cleaning Rags Here” bins.

All equipment is being cleaned per use by staff. Members are asked to clean their equipment before and after use.
