OUR PROGRAMS ACCOMMODATE A WIDE VARIETY OF INTERESTS AND FUNCTIONAL ABILITIES OF ACTIVE OLDER ADULTS AND ARE DESIGNED TO KEEP THEM ACTIVE, STAY HEALTHY, AND SOCIALLY CONNECTED.

At the YMCA, we’ve made the health and fitness of our seniors a top priority by providing programs for the spirit, mind, and body.

Prime members at the YMCA experience a strong sense of belonging and create a network of friends who provide support for sustained health and well-being. Through on-going, fun, safe, and engaging programs, Prime members build relationships and increase self-confidence while celebrating the successes of each member of their community.

PRIME FITNESS CLASS

Combining cardio, strength, endurance and balance, this class will give you a fun workout each week as we change it up! Participants will be led by a certified instructor and use a variety of small equipment. We will keep you guessing on the workout each week!

PRIME CHAIR YOGA

Joining a yoga class can be intimidating if you’re out of shape or have never practiced before. Starting a gentle practice as an older adult can be an excellent way to stay active and lower stress levels. Yoga is not only a safe exercise but also effective in keeping the mind and body in good health. From healthy bones to flexibility, our instructors can help you get started!

TAI CHI

The “Movement Improvement” program uses specifically chosen, and sometimes modified, moves from standard Tai Chi and Qi Gong (energy development) exercises. These moves increase strength, flexibility, cardio-pulmonary function and general health.

Prime Fitness Classes are included with membership. Individuals 80 years and older are eligible for a Golden Membership.
