Course Requirements (Please read the following)

  • All first-time lifeguards must pass a Pre-Skills test before being enrolled.
  • All participants must be 15 years old by the last day the course is offered to qualify for certification.
  • Classes will close one week before the first in-class meeting or if we reach student capacity.
  • Upon successful completion of the Lifeguard Certification training course, participants will be certified in the American Red Cross Lifeguarding and Professional CPR/AED & First Aid.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certifications are valid for 2 years.
  • Professional Rescuer CPR/AED & First Aid are valid for one year. In Nebraska, it must be renewed annually. (If you are from out of state, please check and follow your local laws, regulations, and ordinances.)
  • Attending the in-person class time is mandatory. Failure to show up for any or all of the in-person class times will result in an immediate course failure. Regardless of your online course completion and written test grades.
Course WithdrawalsFailure to Pass Course
-Requests must be made at least 1 week prior to the first in-person class meeting for full refund.
–Requests made between 6 days to 24 hours before the start of your in-person class meeting will receive a 50% refund.
–Course withdrawal requests made on the first day of, or during the in-person the in-class will result in NO refund being given.
–No Call No Show will NOT receive a refund. (Limited special circumstances may apply.)
(For participant that attended the full class and completed the online requirements.)
–Option A: Course fee minus the Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR registration fees can be refunded on request.
–Option B: We can also move participants (s) to the next class. The participants (s) will be required to pay in additional fee $50 to transfer to the new class. Their original registration fee will then be transferred to the new class. They will have to retake the online portion in the new class.
