Dear Runners and Shamrock Shuffle Participants,
Thank you so much for your dedication to the sport of running and for always supporting our SHAMROCK SHUFFLE mission of giving to others. When we run together toward a goal, whether it be a physical goal or donation goal, it feels great to share in the experience with one another.
As runners, we all know that this year has been like no other year. Many took up outdoor running or bought a new treadmill. Races were rescheduled, changed or cancelled all together. Our relationship with running and exercise was dramatically tested. Masks have become our new training partner and the wish to run with a human partner is greater than ever.
As Race Directors, we are conflicted about what is the ‘right’ thing to do with the SHAMROCK SHUFFLE. The 2020 race was cancelled due to the emerging information in regards to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Here we are, one year later, trying to make the best decision for our 2021 race. After much deliberation, the SHAMROCK SHUFFLE COMMITTEE has decided to defer our race until 2022 when we can successfully and joyfully bring people together to celebrate running, comradery and community.
We still want to celebrate your training and your racing, so if you want to, mark your calendars for MARCH 13 to do a virtual run on your own and we will be with you in spirit. The SHAMROCK SHUFFLE COMMITTEE is still planning on donating to our non-profit recipient of last year’s race, Shield 616, in 2021. The proceeds of our race, along with our Sponsors allow us to generously give to non-profit recipients each year. Although we are deferring the actual race, we won’t defer our giving.
Our mission is to financially give through running. The SHAMROCK SHUFFLE COMMITTEE will MATCH our runner’s donations up to $2000 and give again to our deserving Shield 616 organization. You still have the chance to participate by giving. If interested in giving to the 2021 SHAMROCK SHUFFLE MISSION, please click above.
